Roman is a tall man with a medium complexion, mismatched eyes (one light blue, the other dark brown), and dark, wavy hair that is noticeably greying. Outwardly amiable, there is still always a distinct impression that he’s restraining himself in some capacity: as if let in on an amusing secret others aren’t privy to. A powerful, well established courtier, his playbook is The Eminent. The courtiers are the beating heart of the realm's court: influential, holding powerful sway over the political scene close to the throne. A flock of bright butterflies, as fickle in their fluttering as the seasons at court are short: they're a constantly revolving and returning cast of powerful socialites- or those vying to secure their position among the golden elite.
Roman Bennett
Accessible to courtiers and those in fashionable favour, a large library is nestled in the inner court, full of a wide selection of documents: from tiny, small run chapbooks printed in far away sleepy riverside towns, to official magical tomes from any number of prestigious academies' rigorous syllabi. A small area has been donated and sponsored in Roman Bennett's name: the Children's Wing, full of instructional materials made for little curious minds, with a number of interactive displays for small hands to tinker and toy with: largely harmless elemental magic curios and helpful voice enchantments reading out loud storybooks and fairytales. There is a recessed seating area decorated with glowing butterfly lights, with well maintained aquarium tanks wrapping around the sunken walls. The realm's capital, glittering court is teeming with space for the courtiers to roam around- and the sprawling lands outside of its golden cage invite wild adventures and summers spent lazing beneath the warm sun, far from the court's burdens.
The Royal Archives
At the start of the campaign, Roman Bennett has come to court with a startling new addition by his side: a young daughter, having taken on his noble name. Roman is notoriously tight lipped about her exact parentage, leading the court to run wild with speculation and rumors. Though his familial name is weighty enough to permit her position at court, curiousity buzzes around the girl. Some suspect Roman's former lover, murkily known through the rumor mill to be someone whose heart he broke- may be the other parent, though he does not deny or confirm this. One of the most powerful weapons in a courtier's employ is information: the currency of spymasters, courtiers, and nobility alike. Alliances are forged and broken on this quiet exchange, a thrumming undercurrent of the who's who and what's what- an informational overload whispered behind splayed fans and cupped hands, filtering out through the capital.
